The Kalash valleys are about an hours drive southwest of chitral town, between the Chitral River and the Afghan border, Here live about 3,000 people, The three valleys Birir, Bumuret and Rumbur are on the edge of the monsoon belt, so the vegetation is Det ense with giant walnut trees and fruit trees draped in grapevines overhanging swiftly flowing streams. Day 01

Islamabad (500-M)

Arrival Benazir International Airport at Islamabad & transfer to hotel, City tours of Islamabad (including King Shah Faisal Mosque)

Islamabad /Chitral 

Domestic flight Islamabad to Chitral

Fly to Chitral (Flight is subject to weather). Upon arrival transfer to hotel,In case of cancellation of flight (13-14 hrs) drive by coach to Chitral, Crossing under tonnel of Lowari Pass, 7/8 hrs drive to reach at Dir Chitral.

Chitral to Barum,

 4 hrs by jeep, rise 1000 m, Camp beside the river in Barum at about 2500m

Barum village to Shokor Shal

4 to 6 hrs climb about 800m, follow the Barum River north for one hour to green & fertile Shabronz the last village, walk 4 hrs to reach at The camp about 3300m

Shokor Shal to Old Idyllen,

4/6 hrs, climb about 600m, following the glacier of Marmano Shal that consists of a series of steep icefalls running down from Tirch Mir, from either side, steep tributary glaciers flow down to the main glacier, cross the north and south Barum glacier, at about 3900m,
